VALENTÍN GATICA
ARGENTINEAN CONTEMPORARY PAINTER & MURALIST BORN IN 1991.

Valentin's work offers an ambiguous and playful look at the impact of consumerism. Through a series that delves into the constant bombardment of brands and design, he uncovers the psychology behind commercial identities and their colors. His art reinvents familiar images, celebrating the global and regional multicultural society with a mix of humor and irreverence. During the 2020 quarantine he began working on his 'Lego' series that reflects through his large-scale paintings, his childhood, his convictions and frustrations with the special ingredient of confinement. In April 2022 he presents his exhibition: 'CO.INK' that seeks to create an allegory between advertising and art in an abstract way. (Galería Uno+Uno - Palermo - Buenos Aires - Argentina) In August 2023 he held his third solo exhibition 'Soy Chori' at the Chashama gallery (Manhattan, New York) The rhetorical question was: are we going to eat the world or are we ashamed? ... or both? Currently in San Francisco preparing his next solo show in 2025.
